ABOUT Us

hi

I’m Bonnie! I was born in California and grew up in Arizona, where I spent my childhood adventuring with my mom and siblings.

In California, we filled our days with trips to the beach, SeaWorld, the Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. When we moved to Arizona, some of my favorite memories include visiting the Phoenix Zoo and the Science Center with my family. One summer, we explored all sorts of unique museums around Phoenix. I particularly remember a doll museum (I was obsessed with baby dolls), a firetruck museum, and a miniature museum. My mom made sure we always had family field trips!

When I became pregnant, I dreamed of sharing similar adventures with my own kids. My first baby was born in West Texas, where, sadly, there wasn’t much to do with a baby or toddler. Believe me, I looked. The library had some fun interactive play areas, and the parks had recently been updated, but beyond that, options were limited in our little town.

So, when we moved to Tyler, Texas, I dove into researching all the family and kid activities available since we were told it was a great place to raise a family. I wasn’t disappointed in what I found and couldn’t wait to start our own field trips.

The more I searched, the more I discovered.

However, it does take some effort to find family and kid activities in Tyler and the surrounding areas. I understand why some people say, “There’s not much to do here.”

I just happen to disagree.

That’s why I started this page and the 903 FAMILY newsletter—to give moms and dads like you a go-to resource for fun family activities.
