Here’s a quick list of what you’ll want to bring to a haunted house to keep the experience enjoyable:

  • Comfortable Shoes – You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking (and maybe running!), so wear shoes you can move easily in.
  • Layered Clothing – Haunted houses can be outdoors or indoors with varying temperatures. A light jacket or sweater you can tie around your waist might be handy, just in case it gets chilly or too warm.
  • Minimal Accessories – Leave dangling jewelry or anything that could get caught behind. You want to focus on the scares, not worrying about losing an earring!
  • Cash/Card – Some haunted houses have small fees for extra attractions or snacks that might not be included in your ticket price. You’ll also want to be prepared in case they don’t accept card payments.
  • A Small Bag or Fanny Pack – If you bring anything (like your phone or keys), keep it in something small and secure. You don’t want to lose things when you jump!
  • A Group of Friends – Going with friends makes the experience way more fun. Plus, if it gets too intense, you’ve got people to cling to!
  • Mindset – Embrace the atmosphere, even if you don’t like being scared. Focus on the fun with your friends and remember, it’s all part of the adventure.
  • Maybe a change of underwear… Just in case.
  • Most importantly, don’t forget to let yourself have a good time! It’s an experience to laugh about later.
